David Bodingbauer

Servus, my double-life is to carve around buoys at 58 km/h and public law regulations. Between dawn sets at the Ausee cable and footnoting at WU Vienna, I`m chasing a world record and a PhD.

Born and raised in Enns City, currently cooking in Vienna.

Since age seven I’ve burned every spare minute out on the lake, hurling myself at flips until the spray spelled home – only reluctantly trading the skis for a battered Latin textbook that never quite loved me back. Fast-forward: vice-world champion (still hunting that damn gold) freshly minted law grad – forged at Austria’s JKU Linz and spiced by a jambalaya-soaked semester at the University of Louisiana Monroe. The gaps between? An unruly stack of side-quests (LinkedIn).

Oh and I write:

My brain roams around:

  • Algorithmic tender scoring & fundamental rights
  • Comparative administrative procedure
  • Funding models for elite sport in small nations (make Waterski great again)
  • Purposive Interpretation

I like:

  • Sunrise sets
  • Coffee
  • Cajun spice
  • Downhill skiing when the lakes freeze

PS: My coach says I should go full-time skier, my supervisor says full-time academic – for now I’m keeping both amused.
